Saheli’s 50th anniversary marks five decades of providing support services for Black, Asian and Ethnic Minority women who are experiencing domestic abuse.
In 2026, Saheli proudly marks an extraordinary milestone—50 years of supporting Black, Asian and Minoritised women and children facing domestic abuse, honour-based violence, and forced marriage.
To celebrate this legacy—and to secure the future of our life-saving work—we are hosting a 50th Anniversary Gala Dinner at the prestigious Vermilion Banqueting Suite, Manchester, on Saturday 12 September 2026.
This landmark event will bring together more than 300 guests, including professionals, community leaders, dignitaries, service users, and supporters. It promises to be an inspiring evening of celebration, reflection, and fundraising.
We will be joined by three outstanding guest speakers;
* Naz Shah MP and Author- "Honoured: Survival, Strength and My Path to Politics."
* Farah Naz, Campaigner and aunt of Zara Aleena who was murdered whilst walking home in 2022.
* Angie Power, Gender Based Abuse Expert.
The evening includes a sumptuous 4 course Asian meal, drinks reception, stalls and entertainment by acclaimed SonAash Dancers and DJ Kash.
