About the Forró Sailing Week (FSW)

Spend a full week living with Forrózeir@s from around the globe, dancing in special locations like lonely beaches, public squares, abandoned building sites and nautical landing stages.  Throughout the day it's sailing and most diverse activities: swimming, snorkeling, stand-up paddling, running, yoga, relaxing on floaties, reading, sunbathing, wing-foiling and so much more. Besides that we have the regular group cooking routine, dance workshops, stroll through coastal towns and of course, dance Forró on deck or on land. We often manage to do "Forró raft parties" (see cover foto) with caipirinhas on our Catamarans  and stargaze under the clearest midnight sky, sometimes even enjoying a night swim through bioluminescent plankton.

What is included?

The boats are our moving luxury apartments for the week. They provide beds for sleeping (called berths), a fully equipped kitchen and bathrooms (and some space for dancing. :))

Our experienced skippers are our "boat captains" and will bring you safely to secluded beaches and enchanted coastal towns.

Our professional dance teacher Matheus Antunes will teach you everything you need to learn to improve your dance on any level during one of his workshops (at least 3) during the week.

What is not included?

(1) Boat "kitty costs" (250 - 350 € per person), which includes:
- Provisioning for meals on board (food & drinks)
- Fuel & port fees
- National park fees

(2) Travel arrangements:
- Transport (train) to/from marina ca. 40€
- Flights (to Palermo or Catania airport)
- Other personal costs on land (Example: food, drinks, souvenirs, etc.)

What are the ticket booking options?

A boat is like a full equipped floating apartment. The main difference between the budget/ticket price relies on the size & comfort connected to the boat type you shall get. Higher budget translates into: bigger cabins, beds and common areas (also area to dance Forró ;), more & bigger toilets
in the boat. Your options:

• Bronze Ticket: Monohull 40-50ft
• Silver Ticket: 45 to 55ft Monohull or ca. 40ft Catamaran (popular!)
• Gold Ticket: Catamaran 40 to 46ft
  • same tickets are available for 50€ discounted price, if you take a saloon or bow cabin spot.

Tipp 1: If you select option to pay your ticket offline by bank transfer, we will convert your booking fee into a donation to the NGO https://sea-watch.org/ (since we don't get charged credit card fees).

Tipp 2: We offer a bidding ticket system with a limited number of tickets available per bid. Book ASAP to get a cheaper price.

Who do I share a cabin with?

If you book by yourself you can let us know the name of the person you want to share your cabin with. Otherwise you will share your cabin with another forrozeir@ of the same gender.

What and where will we eat during our trip?

We do a big grocery shopping on the first day of the trip and cook most of our meals together on the boats. We occasionally go out for dinner as well.

Is it possible to learn some sailing during the trip?

Yes, of course! We are happy to teach you the basics.

PS: We have participants that stepped in a sail boat for the first time in our trips and became skippers now a days. :)
