Classic Manchester Reimagined with Manchester String Quartet

Wed 2 Jul 2025 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM Ordsall Hall, M5 3AN

Celebrate the iconic pop and rock history of Manchester (and Salford!) with this special afterhours concert in our Great Hall.

Enjoy classical covers of songs by beloved local bands such as Joy Division, New Order, The Smiths, Oasis, Happy Mondays and The Stone Roses in the idyllic surroundings of our Grade I Listed Manor House.

Performing these reimagined classics will be the Manchester String Quartet, who specialize in music from Manchester and for Manchester. Formed in 2002, the group can often be found providing live classical music for weddings, events, parties, tv and film across the Northwest (when they aren’t at their day jobs playing in orchestras, teaching, recording, composing or conducting!)

We are very lucky to be hosting them for this exclusive concert showcasing their extensive covers of Manchester’s most popular songs which have come to define the city’s music scene. There may even be some special tributes to Salford thrown in too! A special night not to be missed.

  • Doors open: 6:45pm
  • Performance begins:  7:30pm
  • Performance ends: 9:30pm

There will be an interval halfway through the performance during which time our café will be open for drinks and light snacks.

Recommended for ages 18+.

£20 per person. Book early to avoid disappointment.
