SALON 58 PRESENTS A chamber performance with the ROYAL CONCERTGEBOUW ORCHESTRA (RCO) 

Over the past six years, Salon 58 has had the great privilege of collaborating with and supporting a remarkable array of orchestras from around the world. From brilliant chamber groups like the Academy of St Martin in the Fields and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, to symphonic powerhouses like the London Philharmonic, our goal has always been the same: to give our Salon 58 audience the intimacy of a backstage pass, combined with a front-row seat. We are thrilled to continue that tradition by welcoming the musicians of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra as part of their fall US tour.

Founded in 1888, the Concertgebouw is universally recognized as one of the finest orchestras on the planet. Their history is staggering - legendary composers like Gustav Mahler and Richard Strauss actually stood on the podium to conduct this very ensemble. Normally, to hear their legendary “velvet strings” and “golden brass,” you would be sharing a massive concert hall with thousands of others. However, on November 17th, we have the rare gift of experiencing their virtuosity up close and personal, and truly getting to know the artists behind the instruments.
