Description
The first Salon Music evening in two years to actually happen as they were intended - in a private home. A glass of wine, some wonderful music and a light buffet supper.
And we are delighted to welcome the KORROS ENSEMBLE - Camilla Pay (harp), Eliza Marshall (flute) and Nicholas Ellis (clarinet) - to launch the new Salon Music season.
PROGRAMME
Scarlatti arr.Ellis - Sonata in D Major k.96 no.465
Howard Blake - Pennillion - in a special arrangement by the composer for Korros
Catrin Finch - Nuntii
Cheryl Frances-Hoad - Vocalise - in a special arrangement by the composer for Korros
Elizabeth Poston -
Three pieces for Flute and Harp. Thought to have been lost but recently
rediscovered by an elderly harpist who worked with Poston.
Elizabeth Poston - Forma for Harp (1958) Written for the celebrated harpist of the time, Maria Korchinska but never published.
Many of these pieces feature on Korros' new album which was released on Convivium Records to celebrate International Women's Day on March 8th.
We had originally planned to hold this concert in the Highgate School chapel to coincide with International Women's Day but that proved impossible. So we are very happy to be able to combine it with the relaunch of the Salon Music evenings.

About the players:
The Korros Ensemble comprises the beautiful and unusual combination of Flute, Clarinet and Harp.
Individually,
Camilla, Nick and Eliza are much in demand, working with major UK
orchestras. They have been performing as a group since they met in 2001
while studying at the Royal Academy of Music.
Together the Korros
Ensemble have collaborated with Ballet Rambert, and Pineapple Dance
Studios and had new works written for them by some of the finest British
living composers including Patrick Nunn, Andrew Morgan and Olivier
Award nominee, Philip Venables.
With a strong vision of adding
something new and original to the chamber music world, Korros also
reworks and reimagines its favourite repertoire - creating an exciting
and fresh way of listening to much loved orchestral, chamber and solo
works.
