33 Hampstead Lane, N6 4RT
Description
Our third Salon Music concert for 2022 - preceded, as always, by a glass of wine and followed by a light buffet supper.
On November 3rd we welcome Julia Dos Reis (viola), Annalise Lam (violin), and Miranda Lewis-Brown (cello) , the J.A.M. String Collective. They will play re-imaginings of works by jazz heavyweights such as Ornette Coleman, Thelonious Monk and Kenny Wheeler alongside their own compositions.
Julia and Miranda met through Jazz Strings, a pioneering new programme devised and led by Tomorrow’s Warriors artistic director, Gary Crosby to encourage and enable more string players from classical and other backgrounds to explore the world of jazz. They were joined last year by Annalise who they had met at Tomorrow's Warriors workshop.
They have played at key London venues such as Ronnie Scott’s, Pizza Express Jazz Club and The Purcell Room at Southbank Centre. In 2019 they toured the UK with legendary saxophonist, Steve Williamson, garnering a 4-star review from the Financial Times. They will be recording their first EP in December of this year.
