WORKSHOP: Texture on the Tors Painting

This workshop will be led by Anne-Marie Furse of Furse Art. Anne-Marie is a local artist who brings her two passions of art and Dartmoor together in her paintings. 

Anne-Marie is currently undertaking a 60 Tor Walking Challenge She often takes her sketchbook with her on her walks and then turns these into finished paintings back in the studio. She is currently working on an art project titled the Spirit of Dartmoor and her work is exhibited across the South West and Wales. She has recently gained first prize in an open art competition titled 'Wild Spaces'. Anne-Marie has a background in adult education so is pleased to be hosting this workshop and helping others share her passion of creating art.

Dartmoor is such a beautiful landscape with its granite tors standing proudly across the landscape. Anne-Marie will be demonstrating how to represent the colours and texture of the moors in a painting and t how to paint rock as well as moorland. You will use palette knives, acrylic paint and other materials to create texture in the landscape. You will be provided with photographs of scenes of Dartmoor taken by Anne-Marie to create your own painting. 

This course is suitable for complete beginners or people who have done some painting before as guidance and tuition will be given throughout.

All materials, tea, coffee and most importantly biscuits will be provided throughout the workshop. So come along for a few hours of creativity and fun, whether you want to learn a new skill or develop your existing creative expression this workshop will help you achieve this.
