Workshop: En Plein Air on Saltash Waterside

Tue 7 Jul 2026 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM Saltash Waterside, PL12 4EL

Take your art outside for a new workshop led by Anne-Marie Furse. Follow in the footsteps of the great artist JMW Turner and get inspired by the views and riverside action of Saltash Waterside.

When painting outdoors artists are able to capture energy, light and colour that is difficult when working from a photo.
Sketching is a really useful way to record information about the landscape we are in. In this workshop we will carry out a number of exercises to help us develop our sketching skills.

We will learn the importance of recording tonal values and how we can do this using different materials. Watercolour paint will be used to add colour to our work.

This course is for anyone who wishes to start painting and drawing the landscape around them. It is suitable for beginners or improvers. All materials will be provided including a sketchbook which you can take home. If you have drawing and markmaking tools that you like to use then you a welcome to bring them.

Anne-Marie Furse is a landscape artist who works en plein air as a regular part of her practice. By working outside she is able to capture the essence of Dartmoor and the Cornish Coast.
