WORKSHOP: Extending the Summer - Alchemy with Inks

Join me (Natalia Charoginni) in this end of summer workshop where we will capture blazing hot, scorching grasses, grains and reeds against the textures and colours of pebbles and stones.

To create our pebbles and stones we will dive into the Japanese marbling technique of Suminagashi, capturing floating ink. We will use water, charcoal and salt to manipulate watercolour inks and we will use natural walnut ink, drawing inks and Sumi ink to create marks with the help of scavenged natural materials. 

Finally, we will bleach our way through black inked background to reveal mark by mark our fields in the last of the summer blazing light. I can’t wait to see you all in September for some alchemy with inks!

Participants 16 years and under must be accompanied by an adult.
