Starting from the centre of Maldon, this delightful walk soon leaves behind the urban bustle and enters a serene landscape of fields and meadows. There will be a scheduled refreshment/lunch stop at one of Essex's most beautiful and remote country pubs: the "Cats" at Woodham Walter. On reaching the scenic Hoe Mill Lock, the walk returns to Maldon by way of the towpath of the Chelmer & Blackwater Navigation.

Walk Highlight: The tranquility of the meandering waterway. This is a long distance walk of 7.5 miles.
