Mundon and Purleigh Meander
Sun 29 Sep 2024 10:00 AM - 4:30 PM
West Maldon Community Centre, Sunbury Way, CM9 6YH
Description
This energetic walk designed by Maldon & Dengie Ramblers explores the expansive landscape south of Maldon, crossing the fields to the village of Mundon with optional Sunday lunch at the “Roundbush” (not included in festival, if you're bringing your own lunch there is a large verge to sit at), then west towards the attractive hilltop village of Purleigh. The walk follows a good stretch of the disused railway track (now a nature reserve) back into Maldon.
Walk Highlight: The beautifully remote church at Mundon and the nearby “petrified” oak trees.
