Discover the Secrets of Hazeleigh Wood
Not many people get the chance to see the bluebells in this privately-owned wood near Hazeleigh Hall. This lovely walk takes you out from Maldon along the disused railway track which now forms the Maldon Wick Nature Reserve. You'll then get a guided tour with custodian Maureen Bissell, who will talk about the trees, plants, wildlife and history of this 60-acre wood. After the woodland tour, you'll have the chance to work a traditional pole lathe. We'll then head over the fields to the "Royal Oak" at Hazeleigh for lunch, before returning to Maldon.
