Enjoy a delightful circular walk from Burnham-on-Crouch to the magnificent Tudor mansion of Creeksea Place. The outward route passes Riverside Park and newly planted vineyards, offering an introduction to the Crouch Valley’s growing reputation as one of England’s most exciting wine-producing areas. Arriving at Creeksea Place, enjoy a rare opportunity to explore the impressive house and its tranquil gardens. The property’s own historian will lead the visit, revealing fascinating stories about the people who lived there and some of the secrets hidden within this remarkable building. Tea, coffee and cake provide a welcome treat (to be paid for on the day) before the return walk, which heads through the historic Creeksea hamlet and follows the seawall beside the scenic River Crouch. The final stretch passes Burnham Yacht Harbour before returning through Riverside Park to the station.

Accessibility of route – There are some steps. Footpaths could be muddy after wet weather, so stout footwear is required.

Toilets – Available at the nearby Co-op supermarket and Creeksea Place.

Public transport – The walk starts at Burnham-on-Crouch railway station. The nearest bus stop is The Railway Hotel, a short walk from the station entrance. Please check suitable services and return times at TravelEssex before travelling.

Lunch – No lunch is included. Tea, coffee and cake will be available during the visit to Creeksea Place at a cost of £7.50 per person please indicate at time of booking.
