Prosecco & Print: A Brief Introduction to Botanical Gelli Printing
Unwind with a glass of Prosecco and discover the joy of gelli printing in this relaxed 2½-hour evening taster.
Perfect for beginners, this session offers a playful introduction to the techniques and possibilities of botanical gelli-plate printing—no press (and no experience) required.
We’ll begin with a warm welcome and a cold glass of Prosecco (or a non-alcoholic alternative) as Seana demonstrates this wonderfully versatile technique. Using a gelli plate, rollers, and acrylic paints, you’ll discover how to create layered, expressive prints inspired by nature.
Then we’ll stroll along the banks of the River Adur, gathering grasses, leaves, and natural textures. This simple foraging element connects the creative process directly to the landscape, bringing a personal, seasonal quality to your work.
Back in the studio, you’ll use your collected botanicals to print with a range of materials, patterned papers, and a spectrum of acrylic paints to build up colour, pattern, and texture. Gelli printing is intuitive, playful, and surprisingly addictive—allowing you to create beautiful, one-of-a-kind prints in a way that feels both freeing and meditative.
This session is perfect for complete beginners as well as anyone looking to loosen up creatively. No drawing skills are needed—just a willingness to explore and enjoy the process.
With guidance throughout, you’ll be encouraged to experiment, let go of perfection, and embrace the unexpected. As we like to say: “It will all be all right in the end…”
A small, intimate group ensures a relaxed atmosphere with plenty of individual attention.
All materials are provided—just bring yourself and enjoy an evening of sipping, printing, and unwinding.
Spaces are limited, so early booking is recommended.
