Know Your Rights!

Are you frustrated and exhausted by working without job security, decent pay, power to influence decisions, or workplace cultures that value and care for you? Do you understand your employment rights within an informal and confusing sector?

Do you want to work in a world where people are cared for as well as the environment? And do you feel that your care and love for what you do can be taken advantage of in a way that creates unhealthy working conditions?

Come and join us online on 1st June 2-5pm for an afternoon of sharing, learning and strategising to build workers’ power! This session will include up to date legal information from Jamila Duncan-Bosu, in response to common scenarios you experience at work.

We want to hear your stories, and empower workers across land related trades to start making the changes needed to ensure the viability of our livelihoods. There are questions in the ticket checkout so we can tailor this workshop to suit your workplace experiences and questions around your rights.

Who is this event for?

This event is for workers – we define a worker as someone who does not have the power to hire AND fire other workers, does not own a business, or the means of production, and is not in a senior management role. Workers include employees, trainees, apprentices, volunteers, freelancers, former workers and worker coop members.

Accessibility

It is really important to us to make this event as accessible as possible, this includes physical, sensory, linguistic, financial, neurological, cultural, social and emotional access. Please let us know what we can put in place to support you to attend by filling in this form by 26th May.

Who’s this run by?

This is an event run by Solidarity Across Land Trades (SALT) in collaboration with Anti Trafficking and Labour Exploitation Unit (ATLEU), Community Food Growers Network (CFGN) and Tower Hamlets Food Partnership (THFP).

SALT:
