Mason Neck: Eagles + Autumn Skies

Join Salty Birds Wellness™ for a slow autumn wander through Mason Neck in search of Bald Eagles, waterfowl, woodpeckers and the quieter details of the changing season.
We’ll follow the paved Great Marsh Trail through the woods to an observation platform overlooking the 250-acre marsh, one of the refuge’s best locations for spotting Bald Eagles and gathering winter waterfowl.
Along the way, we’ll blend beginner-friendly birding with gentle movement, sensory prompts and plenty of time to stop, look and listen.
No birding experience required. Binoculars are helpful but absolutely not necessary. Cameras and curious beginners are always welcome.
Walk details:
- Approximately 1.5 miles round trip
- Mostly flat, paved and accessible
- Slow, relaxed pace
- Limited to 12 participants
- No dogs on group walks
- Ages 16+; younger participants may attend with a registered adult
You’ll feel better. Promise.™
