Tue 13 Feb 2024 10:00 AM - Thu 15 Feb 2024 3:30 PM GMT
Ancient Priors, 49–51 High Street, Crawley, RH10 1BQ
Description
Come and Join Same Sky this half term, and make a lantern for the Spring Fowards event.
Same Sky will be in residence over half term week at the Ancient Priors in the High Street in Crawley, (where Ask Italian use to be), preparing for the "Spring Forwards" event, which starts at dusk on Friday 23rd February. The event will make Memorial Gardens pop with light and colour, with animals and plants from the forest, field, city and sea. Some of our favourite animals will be returning - and some new ones coming too. We've been creating light sculptures and lanterns with pupils from local schools, and anyone else who'd like to take part in making something for the event can join us at our half term workshops.
Our workshops will take place on:
Tuesday 13th Feb : 10am-12pm
Tuesday 13th Feb : 1.30pm - 3.30pm
Thursday 15th Feb: 10am-12pm
Thursday 15th Feb : 1.30pm - 3.30pm
We'll be making lanterns using willow. You can make your own, or work together, and also see some of the works that will go into the light installation. You can meet some of our artists, and some of our creature creations. Workshops are 2 hours long - family groups are welcome- or come with a friend, or on your own. All ages are welcome.
Then you can bring your lantern (or we can keep it for you) and join us for our launch event- a lantern parade led by Positive Productions Fire breathing Dragon - as we come together to warm up the park, and light up the Spring.
