Samohi Theatre to present The Foreigner by Larry Shue
Samohi Theatre is excited to present the hilarious play The Foreigner by Larry Shue. This anti-racist play shines a spotlight on the difficulties of being a stranger in a strange land in comedically powerful ways! It's a wacky case of mistaken identity was a smash hit when it premiered on Broadway in 1984 with Matthew Broderick as the titular character. The Foreigner is a two-act comedy by American playwright Larry Shue. This must-see show has earned two Obie Awards and two Outer Critics Circle Awards as Best New American Play and Best Off-Broadway Production.
In this hilarious farce, Englishman Charlie Baker wants to escape his boring life and wandering wife by escaping to a fishing lodge in rural Georgia with his best friend. Painfully shy and awkward with conversation, he is mistaken for a foreigner who doesn't understand English. Convinced he can’t understand them, the guests begin to speak freely around him. Charlie accidentally overhears dangerous secrets AND discovers the person he was always meant to be.

All shows will take place in the Humanities Center at Santa Monica High School on October 27th and 28th at 7pm, and October 29th at 3pm; then the following weekend, November 3rd and 4th at 7pm, and November 5th at 3pm.
