Join us for Brotein Bar, the first Queer Sports Day, on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at De Kurk Queer Café in Arnhem!

For one day, De Kurk will transform into our favourite gym: a place to move, play, sweat, cheer each other on, and build community through sport.

Too often, trans, non-binary, BIPOC, fat, disabled, and other marginalized people are excluded from (or made to feel unwelcome in) mainstream sports spaces. We believe movement should be accessible to every body, and that's exactly what this day is about.

Whether you want to join a workshop, meet new people, try something new, or simply hang out, there's something here for you. Come as you are and be part of a joyful, welcoming day of movement and community.

Daily Schedule

12:00–13:00 — Yoga Class with Esra Belder

13:30–15:00 — Kickboxing Workshop with Aidan Nadia Okashi

15:00–15:45 — Brotein Break with Angelcakes Arnhem

16:00–18:00 — Community Games

18:00–18:30 — Raffle Winners Announcement

18:30–19:30 — Free Vegan Community Dinner

19:30–21:30 — DJ Set by Rizqita

NOTE: By reserving a spot in one of the workshops, you will automatically receive a raffle ticket, which is included in the workshop price

We offer three ticket options: Bro, Supporter, and Employed Daddy. These tiers are designed to accommodate different circumstances, so everyone can choose the option that best fits their situation and budget.

If you choose one of the higher-priced tickets, you're helping support more than just this event. Any surplus funds will go directly toward organizing next year's event and keeping the initiative alive.

Registration for the community games is free and will take place on the day of the event at De Kurk.

IMPORTANT: By registering for a workshop, you acknowledge that you participate at your own risk and take full responsibility for your own health and physical condition. Neither De Kurk, the Brotein Bar team, nor the trainers can be held liable for any injuries, accidents, loss, or damage that may occur during participation.

Accessibility

• De Kurk Cafè is positioned on the ground floor of the building, and it is wheelchair accessible.
• Unfortunately, the toilets are not yet fully wheelchair accessible. However, there is a larger toilet with enough space to maneuver a wheelchair. During the event, a toilet buddy will be available to assist anyone who would like support transferring from a wheelchair to the toilet seat.
  If you have any questions, accessibility concerns, or specific requirements, please don't hesitate to contact De Kurk in advance. We will do our best to accommodate your needs!
• The yoga class can be joined either standing or from a chair.
• The kickboxing workshop is also accessible for wheelchair users.
