So sorry everyone - Meal tickets have now sold out!

We had to order by 10th.  There will be a waiting list - we can't guarantee them;  but please ask at check-in when you arrive.

In the meantime, flatbread, tea, cake and drinks -  all will be there - and of course entertainment and good company!

Celebration of Refugee Week  2026   

National Refugee Week is the world's largest arts and culture festival, celebrating the creativity, contributions and resilience of refugees. The theme for the festival this year is COURAGE!  Recognising the enormous courage it takes for people who must leave their homes and go on long dangerous journeys in search of safety. 

Sanctuary Breaks and Stroud District Together with Refugees are celebrating this year by  sharing folk dance and musical traditions, with audience participation!

In Children are welcome.  Under 5s free. Timings below are approximate

13th June:   Hill House, Amberley,  GL5 5AL

2.30 The gate opens

3.00 Boss Morris will kick off an afternoon of folk dancing and music from around the world. There will be musical performances and invitations to dance from Ukraine, Palestine, Malaysia, Syria and more..

4.30:   Enjoy a drink and wander in the garden.  Or take part in the all age Treasure Trail.        Drinks will include tea, wine or Hill House very own Apple Juice (from Days Orchard Community Juice Project). Chat to friends and meet performers and other guests. 

5.30:   Al fresco supper:   Falafel, hummous and salads from Sleiman's Habiba restaurant with freshly made flatbreads from our own clay oven in the garden

7 - 8:  Ending with a Ceilidh, called by Hannah Moore, with local folk musicians
