Description
Listen to Detective Superintendent Steve Wilkins give a first-hand account of how he caught a brutal murderer through ground-breaking use of forensic technology.
This is the fascinating true story of a brutal serial murderer and the detectives who worked the cold case for six years in order to bring him to justice. Combining cutting edge forensic techniques with old fashioned detective work, this team of detectives worked to build a case against their prime suspect. But it was a race against time: would he strike again? Codenamed 'Operation Ottowa', this became a landmark case in the application of forensic technology and has been used as a case study by police forces worldwide.
Detective Superintendent Steve Wilkins was the leader of that team. His career took him on to work for the National Crime Intelligence Service and with international police agencies. Now retired and living back in Cheshire, Steve will give a fascinating insight on how the case developed, the complexities involved and how they finally caught their man.
The Pembrokeshire Murders has been dramatised by ITV and is available on ITV X. Steve is played by Hollywood star, Luke Evans.
