Family Safety Day: Hanging with Heroes

At this year’s Family Safety Event, we will hang out with the real-life heroes who protect and keep us safe every single day. Also, there is a pretty amazing surprise appearance by some of your favorite characters and big-screen superheroes!

At the heart of the Family Safety Day Event is a simple yet powerful goal: to equip local San Diego families with vital safety information while ensuring everyone has a blast. Our mission is to make this event a one-stop hub for essential safety insights and resources that cover everything from CPR techniques to staying safe in the digital world.

FREE Community Zone + Hero Headquarters Tickets: This ticket includes access to Hero Headquarters, the Superhero Scavenger Hunt, the Superhero Kids Costume Contest, the Superhero Center Stage,  Superheroes in Training, and the Superhero Support Zone, which includes all our local businesses and non-profit partners. We have some heroic photo opps to snap that instaworthy photo! You can also visit our food and beverage partners, which are available for purchase, and enjoy crafts, FREE Swag & samples from various partners; a live DJ will be available.

LOCATION: We are thrilled to announce that Family Safety Day "Hanging with Heroes" will be hosted at Mission Valley Shopping Center, outside the all-new Novo Brazil Brewpub, an internationally acclaimed and award-winning California brewery.

Parking is abundant and FREE at Mission Valley. To help reduce congestion and minimize the impact on other shoppers, please park underground near 24 Hour Fitness. Take the walkway up through the center, pass by Foot Locker and Eighteen Threads, San Diego Football Club, and find the check-in to Family Safety Day, which will be located in front of Novo Brewing. We will check in our VIP guests at 9:45 am, and doors open at 10 am.

We will cover safety topics like Water safety, CPR Demos, Childproofing your home, Reptile (rattlesnake safety) + Ecovivarium is bringing their mobile reptile zoo, Fire Safety, Child Trafficking, Cyberbullying/Bullying, Child Abductions/Police, Car Seats / Helmets, and Health and wellness—and partners continue to be added.

Car Seat Safety Checks

We are SO excited to share that at the event, you can have your car seat professionally checked by a nationally certified Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) from Safe Kids San Diego for FREE.

You can reserve your car seat check online https://driventosafety.org/ Day-of appointments will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis, but online reservations are highly recommended.

• SUPERPOWER: Captain America’s greatest superpower isn’t just his strength—it’s his unwavering courage and sense of justice! He shows kids that being a hero means standing up for others, always doing what’s right, and protecting those in need. Let’s learn from Captain America how to be strong, kind, and fearless in our everyday lives!
