Summer Sunset Wilding Safari

Discover Sandon Wilding and experience how the landscape shifts from day to evening, with a guided tour from the Wilding team here at Sandon.

You will be collected from Sandon Hall and driven to the heart of the wilding area. Learn the history of the land and how the transformation to Wilding principles, is seeing the emergence of lost species of birds, small and large mammals and deer, through the shifting mosaic of wild grassland and woodland,

See the White Park Cattle and Exmoor ponies and learn how their natural behaviours encourage plant diversity and create a variety of habitats, maintaining a balance between open pasture and woodland

Connect with nature and contemplate the developing visual landscape, enjoy the complexity in the vistas and challenge yourself to see the beauty in nature in new ways.

Refreshments:

The Safari ends at sunset with a drink and a traditional homemade Oatcake, cooked onsite.

The Sunset Safari is a two hour experience, the time will vary slightly to align with the Sunset time over the summer months.

Booking note:

Group Size 4 - 8 guests.

This is a shared experience! To ensure the best viewing experience, our safaris run with a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 8 guests. Individual bookings will be combined to create a full departure.

Seasonal Departures:

Our Wilding Safari season runs from June through to September, offering the best opportunities for wildlife sightings.

Clothing & Footwear

To make the most of your safari, please come prepared for the outdoors:

• Footwear: We recommend sturdy footwear (such as walking boots or wellies), as the tour involves walking along uneven estate paths.
• Clothing: Please wear weather-appropriate clothing. Our safaris are all-weather experiences, so we suggest bringing a waterproof layer or a warm jacket to ensure you stay comfortable while exploring the grounds.

Safari Gift vouchers

Can't decide on a date just yet? Our Safari Gift vouchers are the perfect way to gift a wilding experience. Vouchers are flexible, valid for the entire season, and allow the recipient to book their preferred slot as dates are released.

Cancellation Policy

Online Bookings: In accordance with UK consumer law, if you purchase your tickets online, you are entitled to a refund within 14 days of your purchase.

The Exception: This right to a refund expires immediately if you attend the safari before the 14-day period has ended. No refunds will be issued once this 14-day window has passed.

Ticket Validity & Resale

Non-Transferable: All tickets are non-transferable and are not for resale.

Void Policy: Any ticket transferred for commercial value or resold will become automatically void, and the holder will be refused entry without a refund.

Weather & Cancellations

Our safaris are all-weather experiences. We only cancel in the event of extreme or unsafe weather (e.g., gale-force winds).

If Sandon Hall cancels your session for safety reasons, you will be offered a full refund or a date exchange.

Arrival

Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled start time. Late arrivals may result in a missed safari, and no refunds or partial credits will be provided for missed slots.
