Summer Explorers & Family: Brilliant Birds
Fri 2 Aug 2024 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM BST
Sandwich Bay Bird Observatory Trust - Field Centre, CT139PF
Description
Let us take you under our wing as we embark on an avian adventure into the wonderful world of birds! A hoot for all the family, you’ll have a special opportunity to see some of the resident and visiting birds of Sandwich Bay as they are weighed, measured and ringed under licence.
We’ll learn all about the birds of the Bay - their behaviour, habitats, some of the threats they face and what we can do to help. Enjoy bird-themed crafts and a nature walk to our Wetlands where we’ll have a go at bird watching with Scopes and Binoculars.
Children need nature, and nature needs future generations to take action and save it. Attendance at our Explorer sessions are a wonderful way to create memories shaped by nature that will inspire a lifelong passion for the world around us.
Led by an experienced team of education leaders and conservationists, we are based on the private Sandwich Bay estate and home to Restharrow Scrape, an artificial wetland which acts as a refuge for many birds, as well as woodland, grassland, dunes and beach!
