Drinks at the opening preview are kindly provided by Brixton Brewery.
Ruoru Mou: Leftover Linings
(Main Gallery)
Incorporating sculpture, installation and sound works, Ruoru Mou’s exhibition is inspired by the evolving material culture of the Chinese diaspora communities in Florence, Italy where she grew up. Using artisanal materials such as leather, wood, glass and ceramics, this new series of works explores the relationship between material, power and displaced labour.

Egle Jauncems: Pattern Untitled
(Window Space)
Developed through a continuous search for the parallels between the rational and irrational, contemporary and primitive, and the relevant and irrelevant. Jauncems’ visual analysis often revolves around found imagery, pieces of text and overheard conversations. She transforms these fragments – through the act of painting, drawing and stitching – into objects, or even beings, of pathos and irony.

Both Ruoru Mou and Egle Jauncems’ exhibitions continue until 23 March 2024.
