Attention Arabian horse lovers!

Get ready for an unforgettable weekend in the stunning Santa Ynez Valley as we come together to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the SYV Arabian Horse Association! This is your chance to immerse yourself in the rich, captivating history of the "Valley of the Arabian Horse" and relive five decades of legendary moments.

Join us for a series of exclusive open houses and once-in-a-lifetime experiences that will bring the magic of the Arabian horse to life. Walk through history with special storytelling panels, hear firsthand stories & memories from breed legends, and take a scenic drive to visit the iconic farms where champions once roamed.

What’s in store for you:

  • Inspiring storytelling panels at each open house featuring breed legends who will be sharing personal stories and incredible memories, such as Paul Husband, Steve Heathcott, Martha Rattner, Doug Dahmen, Brad Gallun, Kit Hall, Ray LaCroix, Eric Hemming (son of Paul Hemming), and more to come!
  • Historic Farm Drive - Saturday morning you will be provided with a map for a self-guided drive-by tour of some of our valley's most historic former Arabian horse farms including Gainey Arabians, Battaglia Farms (later Day Dream Arabians), Lasma West, Calisto Farm, Four Winds Farm (later Royal Oaks), Somerset Farm, Bethesda (later Gallun Farms), Paragon Arabians, Caravan Arabians, DeLongpre Arabians, Klee Arabians, Arroyo Arabians, Wolf Springs Ranch, Hemming Arabians, and more! These properties once were home to several of the breed's most illustrious and award-winning horses. Your scenic drive will remind you why Santa Ynez Valley was and still is the perfect spot for the Arabian horse breed to take root and thrive. Feel free to go by all or some of the locations on the map. ***Please do not disturb the current residents, as we do not have permission to tour the farms.
  • A Museum Walkthrough filled with rare photos and Arabian horse artifacts from the past five decades.
  • An unforgettable Movie Night at Om El Arab's indoor arena, featuring never-before-seen footage of legendary horses, iconic people, and dazzling auctions.

This is a celebration you can’t miss! The first weekend of November will be a heartwarming gathering of Arabian horse enthusiasts, and we can’t wait to see you there.
