Agroforestry Coppicing in Sapperton: 3 February and 5 February from 10 am - 3pm, with possible more dates to come.
Join our coppicing days! By helping coppice our willow, poplar and alder in our agroforestry experimental plot, you will:
- Learn about an alley cropping agroforestry system
- Learn how to coppice species
- Gain practical countryside conservation skills (no experience needed)
- Work alongside the Sapperton Wilder team to manage their agroforestry
Our volunteering days are active, outdoor sessions requiring a moderate level of fitness. All skill levels are welcome!
What to Bring
- Secateurs and/or loppers - we have a limited number, so please bring your own if possible
- Gloves - we have a limited number, so please bring your own if possible
- Waterproofs, warm outdoor clothing & appropriate shoes
- We will be providing hot drinks and biscuits
- Please bring a packed lunch and plenty of water
Site location & Parking
The site is located just outside of Sapperton village on land managed by Sapperton Wilder.
NEW PARKING LOCATION!! Please do not park at the previously mentioned gate entrance - it's very muddy and don't want anyone getting stuck.
Please park in the field just inside these gates at w3w.co/daytime.outwards.velocity
Traffic cones will be placed at the gate to help with visibility.

Planting Locations:
From the gate, walk down the field margin towards the agroforestry plot. Enter the fencing as seen below. Electric fencing will be turned off.
