Sapperton Wilder Para-taxonomy Workshop

Please join us for a day of sorting through invertebrates - no prior knowledge or experience necessary!

We are putting on two workshops with Kathy Meakin of Evidence Nature to go through our invertebrate samples from this summer using a technique called “para-taxonomy”.

Kathy will guide us through how to sort the invertebrates into groups that look alike. Participation in this workshop will give you the opportunity to learn about invertebrates, as well as helping the Sapperton Wilder team see what types of invertebrates we have on the farm. This information will influence our farming and land management decisions.

This is our second year using this method. The first year was just looking at herbal leys, whereas this year we sampled in herbal leys with cattle grazing, in the agroforestry, and in our conventional control field of spring barley.
