SaxoFest (Evening Entry)

SaxoFest is a one-day festival in South Oxfordshire celebrating the sound of the saxophone. We are fundraising for two amazing local charities, 'Young People With Dementia' and 'The Music Club' (read more).

Join us from 1pm for family-friendly fun on Sunnyside green with free entry to live saxophone music, food vendors, stalls, activities, and attractions.

From 5pm, things move inside to our ticketed event featuring intimate performances from three premium saxophone acts: Hannah Horton, Redtenbacher's Funkestra, and our event headliner, The Snake Davis Band. A bar will be serving refreshments and snacks, as well as a selection of food vendors outside. This is a standing event but premium front-row seating is available.

This ticket gives you entry to three outstanding saxophone acts:

SNAKE DAVIS BAND
Our headline act is the legendary saxophonist Snake Davis with his 4-piece band. Snake Davis has played and recorded with artists ranging from James Brown to Tina Turner to Paul McCartney to Amy Winehouse and is widely known for his solos on tracks by M-People, Klingande, Take That, and Lisa Stansfield. From soul through pop to jazz and world, the band will perform original material and classic saxophone features such as ‘Baker Street’ and ‘Night Train’.

REDTENBACHER'S FUNKESTRA
Celebrating 30 years, the 7-piece powerhouse will bring their trademark brand of high-energy instrumental jazz-funk to the stage. Expect Funkestra favourites alongside material from their new album 'Funktopia', blending the spirit and grooves of James Brown, Tower of Power, the Brecker Brothers, Lettuce and Snarky Puppy.

HANNAH HORTON
Hannah Horton is an award-winning, saxophonist, band leader, and composer. As a performer her strong, clear tone, powerful rhythmic sense and compelling sense of melody make her an unmistakable voice on the jazz scene. Her music prioritises melody and a sense of playfulness to create a very personal take on jazz that is informed equally by a strong affinity to groove, echoing jazz legends such as Chick Corea and Stan Getz.
