Get to know your judicial officers. This is an informal meet and greet opportunity with Presiding Judge Julie A. Emede and Civil Division Supervising Judge Evette D. Pennypacker. This event is open to all attorneys - both plaintiff and defense. While general procedural questions can be discussed, Rules of Professional Conduct and the Judicial Canons prohibit any discussion of specific cases currently before the court.

The Hon. Julie A. Emede was appointed to the Santa Clara County Superior Court bench in December 2009 and is currently serving as the court’s Presiding Judge. Judge Emede has previously served in the Civil Division, the Criminal Domestic Violence Court, the Civil Provisional Remedies and Appellate Division, Probate Court, Family Court, and Criminal Misdemeanor Court. 

The Hon. Evette D. Pennypacker was appointed to the Santa Clara County Superior Court in June 2018 where she is currently serving as supervising judge of the court’s civil division and a civil case manager. Since her appointment, Judge Pennypacker has served in the court’s criminal division as both a calendar and trial judge and as assistant supervising judge of the court’s family violence unit.
