This summer the sights, tastes, sounds and big dance moves from Brazil are coming to Sutton and you are invited!

This five day camp is going to be our biggest, boldest yet as SCD transforms into one big carnival experience, all based on the music and vibes from the brilliant RIO movies.

The week will be packed full of friendship and memory making, singing, Street, Latin & Commercial Dance, theme related craft sessions, wellbeing and relaxation... all themed around our brilliant RIO experience.

AND for the first time at an SCD dance camp, we are taking our final show (Friday  31st at 4pm) to Sutton High School... just a few steps away from SCD to use their wonderful and spacious theatre space! 

As with all SCD camps, children are split into age appropriate groups to rotate around classes taught by our expert team of passionate teachers and young leaders. Everyone will be learning original choreography to songs from these popular movies. Then, on Friday we will be handing out our unique RIO t-shirts to everyone, ready for an end of week RIO performance for family and friends to enjoy, at Sutton High School.

This Summer camp is open to all children currently enrolled in school years from Reception (transitioning to year 1 in September) and up to School Year 7 (transitioning to year 8 in September) at the time of booking their ticket. ...with Yr8 SCD dance class students invited to apply to be Young Leaders.

This year the year 6+7 students will have an extra special role to play in the final show. With some surprises along the way...!

Students already in Yr8 upwards can also apply to volunteer at the camp for the week as young leaders. Young Leaders need to be enrolled SCD students or former Young Leaders and the team will review every application on an individual basis.

Those needing extra personal support will be connected to a buddy for the week as we work together to be as inclusive as possible. Just indicate on the booking form if you feel a buddy would be useful for your child.

This is a fun packed 5 day camp  (10.00am-4.00pm) where you book in and attend all 5 days. Typically a Summer Camp day runs like this:
10.00 - arrivals, get your QR code scanned and 
10.00 - dance warm up everyone together - RIO party time
10.30 - split into age based groups to get to know each other and learn specific dance choreography for the show
11.20 - break time (don't forget your snacks)
11.40 - craft time - carnival themed
12.30 - lunch time (bring your own tasty packed lunch each day)
13.10 - wellbeing space for all ages / RIO movie time
13.40 - age specific groups choreography time
14.40 - whole camp dance, singing and signing learning time
15.15 - break then carnival games 
15.40 - age groups showing their moves to whole camp cheers
16.00 - collection time - go and sleep ready for tomorrow!

Prices are below and include final day unique RIO @SCD t-shirt (worth £10):

*£102 for SCD students enrolled in classes on 1st August 2026.
*£122 siblings / children of SCD students ie if anyone in your family dances with us each month and is enrolled on 1st August, non class family members can be booked in for this price.
*£192 for guests where no family member is currently enrolled with SCD on 1st August 2026.

FINAL SHOW TICKETS & INFO - FRIDAY 31st JULY at 4.00pm

* Everyone wishing to attend the final show will need to buy a ticket when booking, to help us with the costs. Under 5s can join for free but must be on their' adults laps.
* Students will walk to Sutton High School in their age groups, with their SCD adult team members, Young Leaders and some extra volunteer parent / guardian helpers (let us know, on the booking form, if you would like to volunteer with us for this walk).
* Team and students will all be heading to Sutton High school for about 1pm, after lunch, ready for final rehearsals at the school before the show at 4pm
* Doors for the show will open at 3.45pm at Sutton High School - their theatre (Lees Hall) entrance is just through the school's main gate.
* The show will finish by 5pm.
* SCD will be providing first aiders throughout our time at Sutton High School
* Refreshments will be available before and after the show, onsite at Sutton High.
* The final show will be professionally filmed and therefore we ask for no one to use any cameras during the show, so the amazing students see your faces and hear your clapping! Thank you.

COLLECTION:

* All children will be collected directly from Sutton High School, once the show ends at 5pm. 
* Team members will safely release the students to parents and guardians one by one on the way out.

Key info for Summer Dance Camp:

1. Please arrive to SCD at 10.00am each day - thats when doors will open and show us your ticket QR code on arrival to be scanned.
2. The final mini show is on Friday 1st August, 4PM for friends and family @ Sutton High School - you need to book a ticket for this.
3. The price given is for all 5 days, we cannot take single day bookings.
4. We ask all students to bring snacks, packed lunch and a water bottle each day. We have a NO NUTS policy in place.
5. All students are given a special dance camp t-shirt for the final show within their ticket price. Choose the required size when booking.
6. All places must be pre-booked with the correct ticket selected. SCD verifies each ticket and will adjust charges made if needed.
7. Cancellations must be emailed to info@scd.org.uk Cancellations made by 5pm on Friday 3rd July can be refunded in full. Cancellations made by 5pm on Friday 10th July can receive a 50% refund. Cancellations received after this time will not be refunded UNLESS evidence shows a valid medical reason and SCD's leadership will then make a decision at their discretion.
