Fungal infections are a common yet often mismanaged foot condition in clinical practice. Are you equipped in your pharmacies or clinics to tackle them effectively?
Join Professor Ivan Bristow and Professor Rod Tucker on an enlightening journey through the fungal jungle! Ivan will share his expert roadmap, covering:
- Recognising fungal infections in the skin and the nails; simple diagnostic tools
- Effective treatment with over-the-counter products
- When to refer for further investigations: the partnership between pharmacist and other HCPs
The webinar will be facilitated by Dr Jo McCardle, Scholl’s global clinical expert.
Educational outcomes:
- Participants will learn to effectively utilise simple diagnostic tools to identify fungal infections, improving their clinical assessment skills
- Attendees will gain knowledge on how to recommend and use over-the-counter products for the treatment of fungal infections, optimising patient care
- Participants will understand the appropriate circumstances for referring patients for further investigations

Professor Ivan Bristow
Ivan Bristow has been a podiatrist for over 30 years. Since the commencement of his career, he has held a strong interest in lower limb and foot dermatology. He has promoted foot dermatology worldwide. He has co-authored books, published over 140 professional and academic papers and runs a successful podiatric dermatology blog (www.foot.expert). His current work includes private practice, research and appointments at universities in the UK and Australia.
Professor Rod Tucker
Rod qualified as a pharmacist in 1988 and then pursued a PhD in analytical chemistry. Rod has also spent over 13 years as a health service researcher, focussing on how community pharmacists could help support patients with skin problems and has written a large number of educational articles for pharmacists on the management of skin problems.
Rod is currently an independent pharmacy writer and a part-time lecturer at the University of Bradford where he developed the undergraduate course content for dermatology and which he teaches to pharmacy students.
Dr Jo McCardle
Previously an NHS Consultant Podiatrist & Clinical Research Fellow, Jo has researched and lectured internationally on the high-risk limb. She has received two fellowships (Royal College of Podiatry & Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons, Glasgow).
Jo is passionate about partnering with HCPs to recognised and manage foot complications, so patients benefit from the best treatment at the right time.
