Trosolwg o’r Weminar:

Ymunwch â ni ar gyfer y weminar hon yn RHAD AC AM DDIM, pan fyddwn yn archwilio cipolygon newydd i amgyffredion pobl ifanc mewn gofal am gymorth gan y bobl o’u cwmpas nhw – aelodau’r teulu, ffrindiau ac athrawon – a sut mae’r amgyffredion hyn yn cysylltu â’u hiechyd meddwl a’u lles nhw.

Ar sail ymatebion gan fwy na 2,600 o bobl ifanc i Arolwg Iechyd a Lles Myfyrwyr mewn Ysgolion Uwchradd y Rhwydwaith Ymchwil Iechyd mewn Ysgolion yn 2023/2024, bydd y sesiwn yn archwilio patrymau sy’n dod i’r amlwg yn yr amgyffredion o gymorth, a beth allai’r patrymau hyn ei olygu i’r rhai sy’n gweithio gyda phobl ifanc mewn gofal ar draws addysg, polisi, ymarfer ac ymchwil yn y dyfodol.

Bydd y Weminar yn archwilio:

  • Deall Patrymau Cymorth – Archwilio amgyffredion pobl ifanc mewn gofal yng Nghymru o gymorth gan deulu, ffrindiau ac athrawon – wedi’u categoreiddio mewn 5 patrwm gwahanol, yn amrywio o deimlo’u bod yn cael cymorth llawn i brofi bach iawn o gymorth.
  • Cymorth a’i Effaith ar Les – Darganfod sut mae’r patrymau cymorth amrywiol hyn wedi’u csylltu ag iechyd meddwl a lles emosiynol pobl ifanc.
  • Gwerth Un Perthynas Gefnogol – Dysgu sut mae hyn yn oed un ffynhonnell o gymorth sy’n cael ei hamgyffred – boed gan athro, ffrind neu aelod o’r teulu – yn gallu gwella iechyd meddwl person ifanc yn sylweddol.
  • Dylanwad Ffactorau Cefndir – Archwilio oedran, rhywedd, amgylchiadau ariannol a’r math o leoliadau gofal, a sut maent yn llunio’r rhwydweithiau cymorth sydd gan bobl ifanc, yn eu barn nhw.
  • Goblygiadau i Wasanaethau Cymorth – Ystyried beth mae’r canfyddiadau hyn yn ei awgrymu i athrawon a staff cymorth ysgol sy’n gweithio gyda phobl ifanc mewn gofal a phwysigrwydd cymorth targedig i’r rhai sy’n amgyffred mai bach o gymorth sydd ganddynt.

Webinar Overview:

Join us for this FREE webinar, where we’ll explore new insights into how young people in care perceive support from the people around them - family members, friends, and teachers - and how these perceptions relate to their mental health and well-being.

Based on responses from over 2,600 young people from The School Health Research Network (SHRN) Student Health and Well-being Survey for Secondary Schools in 2023/2024, the session will explore emerging patterns in how support is perceived, and what these patterns might mean for those working with young people in care across education, policy, practice and future research.

The Webinar will Explore:

  • Understanding Patterns of Support - Explore how young people in care in Wales perceive support from family, friends, and teachers - categorised into five distinct patterns, ranging from feeling fully supported to experiencing minimal support.
  • Support and its Impact on Well-being - Discover how these varying patterns of support are linked to young people’s mental health and emotional well-being.
  • The Value of One Supportive Relationship - Learn how even a single source of perceived support - whether from a teacher, friend, or family member - can significantly enhance a young person’s mental health.
  • Influence of Background Factors - Examine age, gender, financial circumstances, and type of care placement and how they shape the support networks young people feel they have.
  • Implications for Support Services - Consider what these findings suggest for teachers and school support staff working with young people in care and the importance of targeted support for those with low perceived support.
