History and Democracy Conference
This one-day conference will range across prehistory and history exploring a wide variation of ideas about, and evidence for, popular participation in government. Panels will feature case studies from the ancient world, Europe from medieval times to the present, and contemporary history in the UK. The Department of Political Economy at King's hosts a growing group of scholars exploring political economy questions through a historical lens. With this conference, organised by Visiting Senior Research Fellow Alex Loktionov, we are excited to bring together a range of specialisms to look at democracy differently.
