IN CONVERSATION WITH RICHARD MURPHY - A Guide To Developing a Fair & Sustainable Economy

We are delighted to welcome Professor Richard Murphy to Scotland's Economics Festival. Richard is well known to audiences in Scotland via his regular column in The National newspaper, his regular media appearances and his growing online presence (his YouTube channel has over 300,000 subscribers).

His Funding The Future Blog is a wonderful source of opinion and insight into today's economy.

In this conversation, Richard will bring clarity and challenge to some of the key themes of the festival. He’ll unpack why so many assumptions about government debt, fiscal limits, and “affordability” are wrong, and explain how a modern economy actually works when viewed through a heterodox lens.

Expect a wide-ranging and highly accessible discussion on tax, public investment, inequality, and the role of the state — with a focus on practical, workable ideas for building a fairer, more democratic, and more sustainable economy.

GENERAL ADMISSION: £8.
