USV for the people, and the rodents.

Please join us for our online workshop, with funding from the UK NC3Rs, to discuss the use of recording UltraSonic Vocalisations (USV) in lab rodents, with a focus on using USV to understand and improve lab rodent welfare.

The key aim of this workshop is to promote the recording of USV as a cheap, non-invasive and easy-to-use tool to investigate affective states (in rats) and other social processes (in rodents).

We will address questions such as why we should be interested in USV and how we can record USV with different levels of equipment, using examples from researchers who are currently using these techniques in their work. We will also cover different approaches to analysing USV.

Our aim is to identify the advantages and limitations of different approaches, in order to better our practice in the use of USV in lab rodent research.
