Meet SBWN and Town Hall
This event is for Black writers and writers of colour based in, from, or connected with Scotland, 18+ years.
Join us to gather in community and help build who we are together.
Whether you’ve been an active member of SBWN for years, haven’t participated in a while, or are completely new, all are welcome!
Purpose: Reflect on what we need as a community and collective
You’ll find out about what we are up to, how you can support and where we are planning to go. We would like to hear what you would like to see, and how you would like to be part in shaping this.
You’ll be invited to share your questions, suggestions, feedback and reflections. For example, what you need as writers, what programming you want more or less of, ways to make it easier to engage and participate with SBWN, how SBWN can better support Black & PoC writers, ways to participate more in the literary scene, desires for a more equitable literary sector…
We will take on board all comments and, while we cannot promise to implement every suggestion, they will influence our programming and advocacy going forward. We also gather feedback at all our events, via an EDI survey, and from an Advisory Group.
Our aim is to create transparent ways in which our members can support and influence SBWN to shape it to be what most benefits you and our community of writers.
