Based on the SCF’s highly regarded Access To Crofting programme, this course has been updated in the light of recent changes and is suitable for both new entrant AND experienced crofters.
Have you been asking yourself:-
- How can I prepare for changes in agricultural policy?
- How can I make my croft more sustainable:- economically & environmentally?
- How do I adapt to changing weather patterns?
- What resources are available to support me?
Answers to these and other questions in our intensive, in-person, interactive two day training course.

Members:- £50; Non-members:- £80
This includes morning & afternoon refreshments and lunch.
The course will be co-designed with participants choosing modules from the following categories:
(i) Land Management; (ii) Animal Management; (iii) Horticulture/Silviculture/Agro-forestry; (iv) Economic Sustainability.

We can not guarantee that you will get all your preferences, depending on who else signs up, but we will do our best.
N.B. At this point we require a deposit to secure your place. (£10 for members; £20 for non-members)
The balance will be payable two weeks before and we will contact you via email to arrange payment.

This is the first in a series of 8 in-person courses to be delivered in various locations throughout the crofting counties between now and the end of March 2025.
Other venues/dates are:- Helmsdale (January 17th/18th TBC); Applecross Community Hall, (31st January & 1st February); Isle of Mull (venue & date TBC); Isle of Skye (venue & date TBC); Carloway Community Centre (28th February/1st March); Ollaberry Hall, Shetland (March 7th/8th) and Benbecula (venue & date TBC).
This workshop is 75% subsidised through the SRDP Knowledge Transfer and Innovation Fund (KTIF), funded by Scottish Government.
