About John
John has spent seven years crofting on the Isle of Lewis at 44 Ranish with his family bringing an abandoned croft and croft house back to life.
They have been working towards biodiversity and regenerative agriculture along with becoming self-sufficient in vegetables to secure a sustainable croft for the future that's fertile and healthy
John has been gardening his whole life and growing vegetables for over 20 years, starting off small and building up over the years.
He is now working towards
growing and supporting local produce in the local community through croft open days
and workshops.
John is the Food Coordinator for Lewis & Harris Horticultural Producers. He recently took part in delivering our KTIF (Knowledge Transfer & Innovation Fund) funded programme in Carloway, Isle of Lewis, and in Benbecula. The main feedback we got from this was "more of John please"!
