Biodiversity Audits - How to complete your own for the Whole Farm Plan

• What is a biodiversity audit?
• Do I have to complete one?
• Are there any benefits for my croft?
• How can I complete one without paying a consultant?

If you submit a SAF (Single Application Form) every year and claim Basic Payment you will probably by now have heard about the Whole Farm Plan. 

The biodiversity audit is one of the plans that will be required by all crofters claiming Basic Payment - and other grants, such as FFIS (Future Farming Investment Scheme). In the future, it may be needed for applying for other grants, even CAGS.

This session will be an opportunity for you to find out from other crofters how they completed their biodiversity audits without needing to pay anyone to do it for them! 

You will find out about the biodiversity audit and how it fits in with the Whole Farm Plan requirements
NatureScot will be there to demonstrate their Farm Biodiversity Scotland tool and we will have crofters present who can tell us their experience of using it.
You will also hear from crofters Neil Maclean, Chris Arthur and Andy Rogers about the methods they have used for completing the Biodiversity Audit - including using crayons and paper maps!

There will be plenty of time to ask your burning questions.
