Local food production - food regulations and how to apply them.

If you are thinking of selling your croft produce, even on a small scale, you need to be aware of the regulations that govern the production and sale of food.
This can feel very daunting and be a barrier to getting started.

Beth Rose of Birchwood croft has, over the years, managed a wide range of local food production from the croft. Cattle, sheep, pigs, bees, and hens have all played an important role - working with nature, livestock, and wildlife has helped to make the croft what it is today. On croft sales have included beef, lamb, pork, fruit and veg, eggs, chutney, and jam.

Drawing on her extensive experience, Beth will take you through the regulations that you need to be aware of and how you can apply them to your food business. 

Please note that Beth does not have formal training in Environmental Health.
