Local food production - What funding is available?
You raise livestock, hens, or grow your own vegetables and fruit on your croft. Now you are wondering if there is a way to sell your produce locally and develop your own local food business. Perhaps you have been selling a wee bit locally and are thinking of scaling up.
You might be asking - what funding is available for primary and secondary food production if I want to sell direct to customers?
Tara Wright of the Landworkers' Alliance will lead this webinar and outline the various options available; including the Crofting Agriculture Grant Scheme (CAGS), the Small Producers Capital Fund, and LEAP (Loans for Enlightened Agriculture Programme). Tara will be joined by some of those involved in delivering funding, such as Highlands and Islands Enterprise, and the Highland Good Food Partnership who will be able to answer your questions in more depth.
For inspiration, we will also showcase a crofter or two who has been successful in securing funding for local food production.

However, they also complement the in-person courses and provide more detail on certain topics that we cannot cover in full over the two in-person days.
