Learn how to make Period Panties in this Advanced Beginner Workshop. Advanced Beginner means you are comfortable with your sewing machine. 

Materials

Tickets to this workshop include fabric, supplies, and access to Scraplanta's sewing machines. We have a limited number of sewing machines, so if you have your own, we highly encourage you to bring your own. We are purchasing special absorbent fabric for the crotch part of the period panties. Although we are following one pattern (in multiple sizes), you are free to bring a pair of comfy underwear that you want to replicate. We will be using a cotton jersey material, but if you have your own lightweight knit fabric that you want to bring, you are free to bring your own as well. You will need about 1/2 a yard. 

Partnership with Free to Be Collective

Scraplanta is partnering with the Free to Be Collective to host sewing workshops that will address the Pink Tax. Globally, people experience barriers to accessing menstrual products, which result in missed work, economic instability, and social isolation. Free to Be Collective is creating free period care packages that will be distributed throughout the Metro Atlanta Area. 

How to get to CreateATL

CreateATL is located at 900 Murphy Avenue SW, Atlanta, GA 30310 in the Historic Adair Park Neighborhood. The venue has limited on-site parking, but there is plenty of street parking along Allene Avenue. The venue is also cat-a-corner from the West End Train station (exit from the Southbound entrance, walk down Lee Street and cross the train tracks to Murphy Ave).
