Pedacitos de Navidad: A Mexican Folk Art w/ Maria @ CreateATL

Get cozy and creative as we welcome the holiday season through Mexican-inspired folk art! Join artist and therapist Maria Villarreal for a hands-on workshop exploring color, tradition, and creative reuse.

Using recycled materials, papier-mâché, paint, and decorative embellishments, participants will create their own festive folk-art pieces inspired by traditional Mexican ornaments, stars, and whimsical holiday decorations.

Whether you celebrate Christmas or simply enjoy the warmth and creativity of the season, this workshop invites you to slow down, experiment, and create something meaningful to take home or gift to someone special.

No previous art experience is necessary!

We want our workshops to be accessible to the community, which means participants can choose whichever tier they are comfortable with paying. You only need to select one tier and can also add a donation to your purchase. Everyone is treated equally at all pay levels, and we don’t conduct income verification. We’re just excited to craft with you!

How to get to CreateATL

CreateATL is located at 900 Murphy Avenue SW, Atlanta, GA 30310 in the Historic Adair Park Neighborhood. The venue has limited on-site parking, but there is plenty of street parking along Allene Avenue. The venue is also cat-a-corner from the West End Train station (exit from the Southbound entrance, walk down Lee Street and cross the train tracks to Murphy Ave).
