Two international short documentary films on women in adventure sport. Follow the stories of surf culture and womanhood across three generations in New Zealand and Canadian climber Bronwyn Hodgins defying burnout with a new challenge in Spain.

Wāhine Waveriders

In the tiny, coastal town of Riverton tucked behind sheep filled paddocks and wind blown trees you’ll find a small, but thriving surf community. Wāhine Waveriders is a documentary celebrating 3 generations of the Pou family women and their unique relationship with surf culture on the South Island. The film explores their personal connection to the ocean and celebrates its profound impact on physical and emotional recovery. Through the lens of womanhood across three generations, this film will highlight the evolving attitudes toward women in surfing.
