Description
Find Writing Inspiration in a Virtual Space
Scribente Maternum was formed out of a desire to find balance between our children as writing inspiration and their presence as a writing distraction. Our retreats are meant to give you time to rest, recharge, and breathe. These are experiences that mothers so often do not make time for but so desperately need: meditation, mindfulness, writing, and simply sitting in stillness.
We are excited to bring the Scribente Maternum retreat experience back to the virtual space! While our in-person retreat will be at Coco coworking and event space in Minneapolis, our very first Write Like a Mother retreat was held over Zoom. It is a homecoming to be able to connect with other moms-who-write in this virtual space.
Thank you, Coco Northeast, for serving as site sponsor for the 2024 Write Like a Mother retreat.
LOCATION:
- Minneapolis in November is the perfect backdrop for writing and inspiration. In November, the city has just begun to move indoors for the months ahead, collectively leaning in to the Danish concept of "hygge," or extreme coziness and comfortable togetherness. Minnesotans begin to retreat from the outdoors by finding comfort with each other indoors. The virtual retreat option lets you experience the backdrop of that hygge from your very own cozy space.
- The neighborhood of Northeast Minneapolis is a rich combination of history and culture. The Coco space was once a furniture factory, and the charm of the building's history remains. We are extremely grateful to Coco's support of moms who write by donating their beautiful space for our retreat. We hope you will sense the same history and culture from home.
- We founded Scribente Maternum at the height of the pandemic. It was a time when we had a million things to write about but absolutely no space to do so. Our first retreat--held over Zoom in February of 2021--was more a necessity than a luxury. Since then, our retreats have grown to in-person events, but we will never forget the magic of that very first retreat experience. We are so thrilled to offer this online community once again.
VIRTUAL RETREAT REGISTRATION INCLUDES:
