Minneapolis/St. Paul Reading, Meetup...and Retreat Preview!

Scribente Maternum is a powerful community of writers who identify as mothers. We each have our own stories and struggles, but we are all writers and we are all mothers. Our retreats and other events celebrate children and grandchildren as inspiration, while also providing the distance so necessary to be creative.

This first reading and meetup of the Minneapolis/St. Paul chapter of Scribente Maternum is also a preview of our upcoming Write Like a Mother virtual retreat. All moms who write and those who support them are invited to share in this experience. Advanced registration is not required, but is requested.

This event is free, and food and beverages will be available for purchase. Your voluntary donation at checkout helps us amplify the voices of those writers who may not otherwise be able to attend our events. Thank you for your support!

About the Space

After years of backyard BBQs and a trip to Tomme’s hometown of Kingston, Jamaica, Pimento Jamaican Kitchen was born. Jamaicans have been embodying the Natural, Local, & Slow Food philosophies for generations – without even trying! That’s why Pimento is so committed to product purity, seasonality, and mindful preparation. These are the cornerstones of our cuisine: family recipes meet French technique in all of our authentic Jamaican dishes.

In 2012, using a $99 pop-up tent and Tomme’s backyard grill, Pimento hit the streets of the Twin Cities. In 2013 they won Pimento’s first brick and mortar on Food Network’s reality competition show, Food Court Wars. In 2016 Pimento opened its flagship location on Minneapolis’s Eat Street. Then to TCF Stadium in 2017, Pimento Rum Bar & Cultural Event Center in 2018, then Saint Paul’s, Keg & Case Food Hall in 2019. Pimento has been featured on “Andrew Zimmern’s Bucket List” on the Travel Channel as well as “I Heart Food” on Food Network. Pimento Jamaican Kitchen offers authentic Jamaican street and comfort food using family recipes, fresh ingredients, and love.
