Writing Together as Mothers: Los Angeles

Join Scribente Maternum and other writer-moms for an entire day to write. We will spend time connecting and setting our intentions for the day, and then we will get writing! Just think - an entire day where you don't have to think about where your food or coffee is coming from, which tasks need to be accomplished, or who needs something from you. An entire day just to focus on you and your ideas.

If you aren't at a place where you're working on a specific project and might need some inspiration, we will also have prompts available and the option for collaboration with writers in similar life or creative situations.

We are pleased to offer up to two free spots for Los Angeles writers of color. Select the "BIPOC writer" ticket when registering.

About the Space

The Relational Center has a mission to lead a shift to a culture that values empathy, diversity, and interdependence. They envision a world in which communities collaborate to practice mindful compassion, mutual support, and civic engagement.

They are a social change-driven counseling and community center, we aim to further their mission through two, primary avenues: 1) by providing low fee and affirming counseling services and community building practices to Angelenos; 2) by training emerging therapists in relational gestalt theory and practices in order to expand the reach of our culture change efforts.

We are so grateful to be welcomed into The Relational Center's space for changemakers.

Itinerary

• 9:30-10:00am: Welcome and introductions, intention setting
• 10:00am-12:00pm: Write, write, write
• 12:00-1:00pm: Lunch
• 1:00-4:00pm: Write, write, write
• 4:00-4:30pm: Closing

The price of the retreat includes the space and time to write, a continental breakfast, coffee, and lunch.

In an effort to make our events as accessible as possible, Scribente Maternum offers a tiered pricing model. While the actual value session is valued at the Partner level (and we strongly appreciate anyone who can register at that level!), any amount is accepted and any additional support is appreciated.
