Children and young people don’t just face risks at home. Many experience harm in parks, town centres, online spaces, schools, friendship groups, or through exploitation. This is known as Harm Outside the Home (HOTH) — and the voluntary and community sector is essential in helping to spot it and stop it.

On behalf of the VCS Children and Young People Forum Steering Group you are invited to a briefing taking place on Monday 6th July 11am - 12 noon through Teams.  The session will explore:-

  • What HOTH looks like in real life
  • Key warning signs linked to exploitation, gangs, serious violence, missing episodes, online harm, and unsafe peer groups
  • How to respond and where to report concerns
  • How the Horizons HOTH Team works with partners to reduce risk and strengthen safety

If you work with young people or families in any capacity, this session will help you recognise risks earlier and know exactly what steps to take.

If you want any further information about the session please contact Leona Bird, Strategic Engagement Officer at SCVO - leona@scvo.info
