Sandwell Hate Crime Awareness: Challenging Myths. Building Confidence. Supporting Communities

Safer Sandwell Partnership invites you to joint them during National Hate Crime Awareness week 2026 for an interactive Hate Crime Awareness event focused on understanding hate crime, increasing confidence to report and strengthening knowledge around support available for victims.

Through a live Myth-Busting Challenge, expert panel discussion and Q&A session, and reporting demonstration, you'll gain practical knowledge about:

• What constitutes a hate crime or hate incident
• Common myths and misconceptions
• Reporting routes, including True Vision and Third-Party Reporting Centres (TPRCs)
• Support available for victims
• The role of community and faith organisations in building safer and more inclusive communities
• Current community cohesion challenges and emerging national trends

Interactive Event

Attendees are encouraged to bring a mobile phone to participate in live voting and audience polls during the Myth-Busting Challenge.
